As evaluators, we need to pull back one more layer and ask the question: “Does classroom practice result in student achievement?”
For years we have monitored effective teaching simply by going into classrooms and making judgments based solely upon a checklist that evaluates teacher performance. This may sometimes be misleading. This training will help administrators develop ways to determine what teachers need to ensure all students achieve; match the Growth Plan to student achievement; provide teachers with professional development that impacts student learning; and focus teaching and learning as the work of both teachers and administrators. Each participant will receive tools and resources to assist with this work.
Six hours of EILA credit provided; meets requirements for certified evaluation update training.
