Mike provides high-impact training and development experiences for thousands of educators and business professionals through his work as a teacher, keynote speaker, and consultant. For more than 20 years, using television, on-line technology, workshops, and institutes, he has been at the forefront of educator development across the United States. Recognized as an authority on adult learning and, specifically, training that results in workplace application, Mike designs, develops, and delivers professional development experiences and interactive satellite events for clients across the nation. Mike’s work focuses on high-performance teaching and learning, leadership development, creating and leading team-based organizations, and results-based organizational improvement. He co-founded the leadership development program, Requisites of a Leader, and created and developed both the on-site and distance education versions of the widely acclaimed program, Creating the Learning-Centered School.
Mike is the founder and president of the Rutherford Learning Group based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wyoming where his emphasis is leadership and human development.
